BUILT-IN DHCP SERVER
The built-in DHCP Server of NetPassage 15B series
Broadband Internet Routers makes the network setup
a fast and easy process. Simply configure the comput-
ers to dynamically obtain IP addresses, and the DHCP
Server will assign IP addresses, gateway and DNS
information to the computers. In addition, these
Broadband Routers support DHCP Reservation that
reserves certain IP addresses for certain computers
based on the MAC addresses of the network adapters.
NETWORK ADDRESS TRANSLATOR (NAT)
With Network Address Translator (NAT), NetPassage
15B series Broadband Internet Routers provide a
simple firewall between the private network and the
Internet, protecting your network from the instruders.
VIRTUAL SERVERS
Virtual Servers enables Internet servers, such as Web
Server, Mail Server & etc, to be hosted in your private
network. Two types of Virtual Servers are supported by
NetPassage 15B series Broadband Internet Routers,
IP-Forwarding and TCP/UDP Port-Forwarding.
IP PACKET FILTERING
With IP Packet Filtering, administrative functions such
as access control can be defined based on source IP
address, TCP port and time. For certain time-based
ADSL services, Time-based Internet Access Control
may be implemented to minimize the monthly Internet
charges.
ROUTER’S CLOCK SYNCHRONIZATION
Unlike certain broadband Internet routers, NetPassage
15B series routers are designed with a clock that can
be synchronized with the managing computer. The
Router Clock may be used as a reference to facilitate
the packet filtering functions. For example, Internet
Access may be provided only during a certain period of
time.
WEB-BASED CONFIGURATION INTERFACE
NetPassage 15B series Broadband Internet Routers
are integrated with HTTP Servers to facilitate the router
configuration. Whether you are using Microsoft Win-
dows, Macintosh or Unix, you can easily connect to the
router with just a Web Browser, and complete the
configuration process in just a few minutes via a user-
friendly web-based configuration interface.
CONFIGURATION BACKUP
Not only does NetPassage 15B series Broadband
Internet Routers provide a user-friendly configuration

In IP-Forwarding, any Internet request to a public IP address is
forwarded to a specific computer in the private network regardless
of the TCP/UDP port of the Internet request.

In Port-Forwarding, the Internet request is forwarded to a specific
computer in the private network based on the TCP/UDP port of the
Internet request. In the above example, HTTP requests to the public
IP address assigned by the ISP are forwarded to 192.168.100.101
whereas FTP requests are forwarded to 192.168.100.102.

into a backup file. If the router settings are accidentally
cleared, it can easily be restored from the backup file.
UPGRADEABLE FIRMWARE
To ensure continuous support that benefits the users,
NetPassage 15B series Broadband Internet Routers
have been designed with firmware upgrading capability.
Future releases of firmware can easily be updated on
the routers to support more features.
